Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

5′, 7′: On the Luwism ušantaraya “blessings” see CLL 246.

6′: Note the couterpoint between clay tablets and gulzattar-boards (with the unique spelling GIŠgulzattarriḪI.A).

8′: Cf. the expression “to release (tarna-) the sickle” discussed in Cammarosano 2018: 131-32.

9′: A GN Kanuwaya (reading uncertain) is not otherwise attested.
